Michał Dymny – multiinstrumentalista, improwizator, kompozytor i wokalista. Jego główne instrumenty to klawisze i gitara elektryczna, na której wykształcił indywidualny styl oparty między innymi na technikach sonorystycznych i preparacjach instrumentu.
W 2005 roku rozpoczął współpracę z krakowskim środowiskiem improwizatorów – m.in. Rafałem Mazurem i Tomkiem Chołoniewskim, współtworząc kolektyw Improvising Artists, a także zespoły Entropy i Process – Laboratory of Intuition. W latach 2008-2009 organizował Open Sessions – otwarte sesje muzyki swobodnie improwizowanej, w których uczestniczyli m.in. Noël Akchoté, Martin Küchen, Ray Dickaty.
W roku 2013, razem R. Mazurem, T. Chołoniewskim i P. Owczarek powołał do życia Instytut Intuicji – projekt poświęcony rozwojowi indeterministycznych form kreacji artystycznej. Istotą działania Instytutu była zarówno teoretyczna refleksja nad metodą intuitywnej, swobodnej improwizacji, jak i cykliczne działania koncertowe wraz z zaproszonymi gośćmi, do których należeli m.in. Vasco Trilla, Ramon Lopez, Yedo Gibson, Jorge Torrecillas, Adam Gołębiewski, Felicity Provan, Alan Purves, TOC Trio, Miro Toth, El Pricto, Paul Roth, Alexander Markvart, Herman Müntzing i wielu innych. Spotkania te zaowocowały między innymi kilkuletnią współpracą Dymnego z Vasco Trillą.
Oprócz realizowania własnych inicjatyw, Dymny aktywnie uczestniczy w cudzych – grał w Adrian Utley Guitar Orchestra, Krakow Improvisers Orchestra, audiowizualnym projekcie „HiQ”, Europa Train Score, w międzynarodowej orkiestrze opery eksperymentalnej Miroslava Totha, projekcie muzyczno-malarskim pt. “Przetwornik” wraz Agatą Kus, w zespołach Shibuya Motors, Elder Space Bankers, Constant Sunset, i całej masie innych.
Współpracuje z improwizatorami z wielu krajów, koncertował m.in. z Shahzadem Ismaily, Luisem Vicente, Lukasem Königiem, Vasco Trillą, Lisą Üllen, Raymondem Stridem, Rafałem Mazurem, Tomem Chantem, Balázsem Pándi, Didi Kernem, Andrew Lislem, Colinem Websterem, Arturem Majewskim, Andrew Drurym, Marcinem i Bartłomiejem Olesiami, Onno Govaertem, Witoldem Oleszakiem, itd.;
Występował na festiwalach Sacrum Profanum, Krakowska Jesień Jazzowa, Spontaneous Music Festival, Audio Art, Unsound, Jazz nad Odrą, Jarocin Festiwal, Sound Exchange, Meeting of Improvisers.
Na stałe gra w zespołach Nucleon oraz Neal Cassady. W 2022 roku założył zespół Dymny Sour, w którym jest autorem zarówno muzyki, jak i tekstów. Oprócz tego od lat tworzy muzykę teatralną i filmową, w 2017 roku otrzymując wraz z Piotrem Żyłą nagrodę Złota Maska za muzykę do spektaklu „Coś pomiędzy”.

Michał Dymny – multi-instrumentalist, improviser, composer and vocalist. His main instrument is piano and electric guitar, on which he has developed an individual style based, among other things, on sonoristic techniques and preparations of the instrument.
In 2005, he began working with the Krakow improvising community – including Rafal Mazur and Tomek Choloniewski, co-founding the Improvising Artists collective, as well as the Entropy and Process – Laboratory of Intuition bands. In 2008-2009, he organized Open Sessions – regular meetings for improvising musicians, with participants including Noël Akchoté, Martin Küchen, Ray Dickaty.
In 2013, together with R. Mazur, T. Choloniewski and P. Owczarek established the Institute of Intuition – a project dedicated to the development of indeterministic forms of artistic creation. The essence of the Institute’s activity was both theoretical reflection on the method of intuitive free improvisation, as well as cyclical concert activities with invited guests, which included Vasco Trilla, Ramon Lopez, Yedo Gibson, Jorge Torrecillas, Adam Golebiewski, Felicity Provan, Alan Purves, TOC Trio, Miro Toth, El Pricto, Paul Roth, Alexander Markvart, Herman Müntzing and many others. These encounters resulted, among other things, in Dymny’s long-term collaboration with Vasco Trilla.
In addition to pursuing his own initiatives, Dymny actively participates in others – he has played in the Adrian Utley Guitar Orchestra, Krakow Improvisers Orchestra, the audiovisual project „HiQ”, Europa Train Score, in Miroslav Toth’s international experimental opera orchestra, the music and painting project titled „Przetwornik” together with Agata Kus, in the bands Shibuya Motors, Elder Space Bankers, Constant Sunset, and a whole host of others.
He collaborates with improvisers from many countries, and has performed with Shahzad Ismaily, Luis Vicente, Lukas König, Vasco Trilla, Lisa Üllen, Raymond Strid, Rafal Mazur, Tom Chant, Balázs Pándi, Didi Kern, Andrew Lisle, Colin Webster, Artur Majewski, Andrew Drury, Marcin Oleś, Bartłomiej Oleś, Onno Govaert, Witold Oleszak and many others.
He has performed at Sacrum Profanum, Krakow Jazz Autumn, Spontaneous Music Festival, Audio Art, Unsound, Jazz on the Oder, Jarocin Festiwal, Sound Exchange, Meeting of Improvisers festivals.
Apart from spontaneous collaborations he plays in the bands Nucleon and Neal Cassady. In 2022 he founded the band Dymny Sour, in which he writes both music and lyrics. In addition, he has been creating theater and film music for years, in 2017 receiving the Golden Mask award with Piotr Żyła for his music for the play „Coś pomiędzy.”;
